OUTDOOR KITCHEN: BEFORE, DURING AND AFTER
Watch this outdoor kitchen being built. The deck is also being rebuilt with an outdoor grill. Several large trees were planted and new sloping walk and flowerbeds installed.
The pond is being renovated with a soothing waterfall flowing from under the deck.
Click on the photos to see a larger view and a brief explanation of that aspect of the project.
Sweet potato vine, dark leaf canna and elephant ears form the basis of this sweeping tropical flowerbed. Heritage River Birch form the canopy.
The compact, yet large capacity Alfresco Open Air Culinary System, master grill, storage drawer and warming cabinet suit the host's emtertaining lifestyle.
This view from the pool back to the entrance shows the emphasis on low maintenance combined with exuberant growth.

Renovation of the water feature wraps up at the waterfall as the framework of the deck goes up above.
The old steps were removed and a gently sloping path installed along the deck to the pool level. This is in the beginnning.
Fence removed and plywood laid down to prevent damage to the lawn during the transport and planting of the Heritage River Birches on the west side of the deck.
The River Birch carefully dug from the Tree Farm, balled and burlapped and transported to the site for "instant garden canopy."
From the truck to the back yard.
Easy does it. Teamwork and caution provide the gentlest treatment.
Clearing the rock mulch and preparing to dig the holes for the Birches
Irish Yews will provide privacy and shade in a very narrow bed alongside the deck. A perfect choice for this confined space.
Let's dig the holes!
