WATERING
Shrubs need to be watered every five days, soaking down around the
plant.
Pullback mulch. Use hand or shovel to verify that moisture is at least
6 - 8 inches deep.
The Number 1 reason for plant loss is excessive watering. Newly installed
plants should be watered as soon as possible after planting. Temperature
should be considered, the hotter it is, the sooner plants will dry
out.
Yews,
spruce trees and junipers require less water.
Plants needing more water include maiden and fountain grasses, annual
flowers and willow trees.
Rainfall amounts should be monitored.
After one year, a deep root injection of nitrogen and iron is recommended.
TRIMMING
Trimming recommendations vary depending on the characteristics of
the shrub.
Removing the dead growth in shrubs will encourage new growth and benefit
appearance.
